Art and interiors has always
been an abiding passion for me.
My recent
post as course leader and lecturer for a college Interior Design course in
the UK involved teaching both the creative and professional side of interior
design. My input on the course was general art and design, the development
of creative concepts, colour and texture, marketing and professional practice.
I think the most enjoyable part of any branch of interior design helping
clients turn their dreams into realities
Early in my career I studied fine interior decorative techniques and restoration and managed a shop specializing in restored furniture, artifacts and decorative antiques alongside my regular commercial illustration work. It was a welcome change from the drawing board, physically hard work,but immensely satisfying.
A specially commissioned piece or effect will add a personal dimension to a living or working space. The work can be designed for a particular situation or to follow a particular theme from simple colour field and minimal painting to tromple l'oeil and figurative work.
